Work Forward Programme

Our Work Forward programme commenced delivery in early 2026. The programme supports young people who are NEET (Not in Education, Employment or Training) and reside in low-income households to access sustainable employment opportunities in London, Kent and Nottingham.

Currently, youth unemployment levels in the UK are at an all-time high. An estimated 15.1% of people aged 18 to 24 years in the UK were Not in Education, Employment or Training (NEET) in July to September 2025. This figure has risen dramatically over recent years, reaching an eleven-year high of almost one million. The likelihood of being NEET is higher for young people facing ‘multiple forms of disadvantage’. Additionally, young people from ‘disadvantaged’ backgrounds are 50% more likely to be NEET than their similarly qualified
but better-off peers.

Our Work Forward programme aims to tackle this inequity.

Work Forward provides young people with a specialist Progression Coach for up to one year. Coaches will offer support through one-to-one coaching sessions, group workshops and facilitating employer connections.

Participants will have access to a range of support to help them identify their future aspirations, develop their skills, access peer support and ultimately seek to secure paid employment.
