Asset-Based Language Guide

Our language guide outlines our commitment to using asset-based language.

We believe that in order to create inclusive spaces in which young people can thrive and succeed, we must be mindful of how we communicate with, and about, young people. We want to share our knowledge and evidence surrounding the language we use to describe the young people we work with to raise awareness and initiate change.

We will be sharing this guide with our supporters and partners, inviting them to consider the words they use when working with or for young people and move towards using more positive, asset-based language.

Read our asset-based language guide to learn why adopting this language is important, terms we will be using and our commitment to applying this language.
